Elektrolokomotive Ge 4/4 II Nr. 623 der Rhätischen Bahn, in einer speziellen Gestaltung für den Glacier Express. Originalgetreue Farbgebung und Beschriftung der Epoche VI. Alle 4 Radsätze von zwei leistungsstarken kugelgelagerten Bühler-Motoren angetrieben. Ausgerüstet mit einem mfx/DCC-Decoder mit vielen Lichtund Soundfunktionen. Dachstromabnehmer motorisch angetrieben, digital schaltbar.

Der langsamste Schnellzug der Welt - so wird der Glacier-Express gerne genannt - verkehrt seit 90 Jahren zwischen Zermatt und St. Moritz. Waren es damals zumindest teilweise noch Dampfloks, sind heute in den Schweizer Bergen leistungsstarke Elektroloks mit diesem Zug unterwegs. Auf dem Netz der Rhätischen Bahn sind das die Loks der Baureihe Ge 4/4 II, die mit ihren 2.300 PS und ihrer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 90 km/h keine Probleme damit haben, den Zug auf dem Streckenabschnitt von Disentis bis nach St. Moritz zu ziehen. Seit kurzen verkehrt das große Vorbild des LGB-Modells 28446 - die Lok mit der Nummer 623 und dem Namen „Bonaduz” - geschmückt mit dem Glacier-Express Logo und dem Edelweiß mit dem Schweizer Kreuz hauptsächlich vor diesem Expresszug. Dass die Lok mittlerweile 36 Jahre alt ist, sieht man ihr gar nicht an - sie ist einfach zeitlos schön ...

Class Ge 4/4 II Electric Locomotive “Glacier Express“

This is the Rhaetian Railroad class Ge 4/4 II electric locomotive, road number 623, in a special paint scheme for the Glacier Express. The paint scheme and lettering are prototypical for Era VI. All 4 wheel sets driven by two powerful ball bearingmounted Bühler motors. The locomotive has an mfx/DCC decoder with many light and sound functions. The pantographs are powered by servomotors and can be controlled digitally.

The slowest express train in the world - – this is what people like to call the Glacier Express – has been running for 90 years between Zermatt and St. Moritz. In the past, it was still steam locomotives at times, but currently powerful electric locomotives pull this train in the Swiss mountains. On the network of the Rhaetian Railroad it is the class Ge 4/4 II locomotives, which with their 2,300 horsepower and their maximum speed of 90 km/h / 56 mph have no problems pulling the train on the section of the route from Disentis to St. Moritz. Recently, the real life prototype of the LGB model 28446 – the locomotive with road number 623 and the name „Bonaduz“ – has been running decorated with the Glacier Express logo and the edelweiss with the Swiss cross chiefly pulling this express train. You don‘t see at all that the locomotive has in the meantime turned 36 years old – it is simply timelessly beautiful...
